At Mandela Mattresses, we believe a good life starts with a good foundation — and for the most vulnerable children in our community, that foundation begins with something as simple as a meal, a pair of shoes, or a warm set of clothes.
That’s why we’re proud to partner with Njeri’s Kabati — a grassroots organisation doing extraordinary work, one shelf at a time.
💛 Who Is Njeri’s Kabati?
Njeri’s Kabati is a community-driven initiative dedicated to stocking food, clothing, and essential supplies for children who need it most. Their weekly drive, Jaza Kabati (Swahili for “Fill the Cupboard”), is a simple but powerful idea: when the Kabati is full, children can learn, play, heal, and dream.
📦 Where Your Donation Goes
Every single day, Njeri’s Kabati needs at least KES 1,000 to keep things running. Here’s exactly how it’s used:
- 🍽️ Tap to Eat: KES 20 per child per day × 35 children = KES 700 daily so every child eats at least one meal at school.
- 🥦 Maskani supplies: KES 300–500 daily for fresh vegetables and milk.
- 👶 Special care: A few Infants are on diapers and a special diet to help treat kwashiorkor.
- 🏥 Medical emergencies: A small kitty kept ready for when health crises arise.
- 📚 School fees & essentials: Books, uniforms, shoes — the things that keep children in school and give them a future.
